Blacks have a great history to them. There are many different versions. Ivory Black was made by burning ivory in large iron pots. Lamp Black was made by collecting the soot from oil burning lamps. Today we used a darker more neutral black called Carbon Black. PBK 7 is an excellent, neutral, ASTM 1 pigment that can be used in many different ways with the other pigments in the line.
